چکیده

Background: Among individuals with vestibular dysfunction, the loss of vestibular sensory information is found to alter cognitive abilities that coordinate spatial and non-spatial information. P300 an event-related potential commonly used assess processing. The aim present study was compare latency amplitude cortical auditory evoked between with dysfunction no dysfunction. Methods: Forty adults a mean age 40.5 ± 13.07 participated in study. Group I included 20 diagnosed group II age-matched dysfunction. recorded from electrode site Cz Pz. It elicited using pure-tones odd-ball paradigm. peaks P1, N1, P2, N2 were measured. Results: Significant difference observed potentials at only 70% compared 100% among slightly larger 1 2 similar both groups. However, groups not statistically significant. Conclusions: Knowing function enables planning rehabilitation therapy, which enhances quality life these by improving their functions.

Vestibular receptors contribute to cortical auditory evoked potentials☆

Acoustic sensitivity of the vestibular apparatus is well-established, but the contribution of vestibular receptors to the late auditory evoked potentials of cortical origin is unknown. Evoked potentials from 500 Hz tone pips were recorded using 70 channel EEG at several intensities below and above the vestibular acoustic threshold, as determined by vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs)....

Vestibular evoked myogenic potentials in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune systemic disease. Most common autoimmune diseases are multisystem disorders that may also present with otological manifestations, and autoimmune inner ear disease accompanied by vestibular dysfunction. This study aimed to compare the vestibular function between RA patients and normal subjects using cervical vestibular evoked myogenic...

Cervical and Ocular Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials Test Results in Individuals with Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorders

Auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder is a clinical disorder where the outer hair cell functioning is intact but the functioning of the auditory nerve is affected. Since, the 8(th) nerve is constituted by both the auditory and vestibular branch of nerve fibers, there are chances that the vestibular nerve might also be affected. Hence, the current study was carried out in order to determine the ...
